Practice Description
M Health Fairview Podiatry/Foot & Ankle Surgery department is seeking a qualified and experienced podiatrist/foot & ankle surgeon , with special interest in wound care and limb salvage, to manage patients in the hospital setting. This individual, designated a Podiatric Hospitalist , will be joining a team of 12 M Health Fairview podiatrists (surgical and non-surgical) that are spread over a large geographic region, in and around the Twin Cities area. The individual will work most closely with the providers in the south suburbs. The goal of this new position is to offer our podiatric inpatients high quality, compassionate, surgical and non-surgical, priority care. Not accepting new graduates for this position.
Practice Details:
Join a team of 12 podiatrists.
Provide daily, M-F, inpatient podiatric services (surgical and non-surgical) at M Health Fairview St. John's and M Health Fairview Woodwinds hospitals which are located 13 miles apart in Maplewood and Woodbury Minnesota respectively.
Daily work will involve inpatient consultations, rounding, and surgery with the majority of the work involving the management of wounds and infections, secondary to diabetes and peripheral arterial disease.
This will involve working closely as a team with internal medicine, infectious disease, vascular surgery, the Wound Ostomy Continence department and other nursing staff and support.
Much of the daily work will be treating inpatients . There will be clinic time allotted for hospital follow up, wound treatment and other practice interests. To aid in convenience, clinics will be located on or near both hospital campuses.
Medical assistant support will be provided for designated clinic time.
RN phone triage support for discharged and clinic patients
Call Requirements : On a rotating basis
Opening: 0.6 FTE - Flexible schedule

Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Council of Podiatric Medical Education (CPME) residency training program
Board certified or eligible with the American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgery OR American Board of Podiatric Medicine
Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Podiatric Medicine licensure
Ability to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota
