Sensata Technologies, Inc. Senior Embedded Software Engineer in Bloomington, Minnesota
The Senior Embedded Software Engineer is a lead Android developer for our IoT edge intelligent embedded systems for vehicle telematics. Specifically, this role will be responsible for the development of our next generation Dash Camera embedded software for devices incorporating high levels of SoC integration. This service oriented, scalable solution will support our evolving technologies in Advanced Driver Assistance, Driver Monitoring, Live View and real time telematics systems. The Sr SW Eng works as part of a solutions development team practicing New Product Introduction PDP and mature Agile-Scrum processes.
General Responsibilities
Conducts analyses for designs, programs, debugs and modified software
Handles the troubleshooting of codes for firmware applications
Handles analog and digital hardware and software operating systems
Position requires knowledge and exposure to hardware design
Conducts the programming of machine language, assembly language and high level languages
Experience / Qualifications
A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
Additional Experience/ Skills Requirements
Knowledge in embedded software design for mobile devices with edge optimized Artificial Intelligence facilitated by a service-oriented solution stack.
Experience in design and development of cellular based mobile IOT devices with highly integrated communications chipset and/or System on Modules.
Proficiency developing embedded services, edge applications utilizing C, C++, Android, Linux, Zephyr, and RTOS.
Driver development on bare metal. Android AOSP driver and kernel development.
Experience with mobile video, image processing, camera technologies strongly desired
Background in communications systems, wireless and wired protocols.
Expert knowledge of Agile-Scrum methods, deep experience with Atlassian tools.
Well-developed leadership qualities; confident and responsible.
Additional Responsibilities
Architect and develop an Edge AI embedded platform for our next generation Dash Camera systems.
Act as technical lead on firmware design to drive best practices within inter-disciplinary teams to address complex product design and manufacturing challenges
Drive continuous improvement in software development, CI/CD, and release velocity. Identify metrics to use for team KPI goals.
Lead feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs
Advise on Agile driven SQA testing and qualification testing leading to successful on-time production launch
Support customer Proof-of-Concept and other technical discussions as Subject Matter Expert
Travel required- around 25% , could vary.
