HealthPartners Manager, Health Plan Project Management in Bloomington, Minnesota

HealthPartners is currently hiring for a Manager, Health Plan Project Management. In partnership with senior leaders and other sponsors, the Manager guides the overall strategic direction and implementation of highly complex initiatives that drive our growth and success as a health plan. The Manager leads a three-person team of senior health plan project managers; it assesses, coaches, and develops them to meet the needs of Health Plan initiatives and projects. This role also functions as an advisor, convener, consultant, thought leader, and driver of transformational change. The Manager applies both proven project management and process improvement methodologies and tools to improve and/or redesign operational processes. It also creates, compiles, and connects analytics and KPIs to help inform key business decisions. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business, health care, or related field, or extensive experience in project/program management Five (5) years in the health plan industry and/or in a directly related field Eight (8) years demonstrated project leadership experience Three (3) years developing and managing a team of project managers Proven ability to lead multiple large team projects (both in size and scope) to successful completion and manage highly visible, sensitive business issues through influence, collaboration, and diplomacy. Experience assessing, developing, and coaching a team of project managers to deliver on key organizational initiatives. Ability to influence and interact with all levels in the organization. Demonstrated aptitude to be a self-starter with a high degree of independence and autonomy. Excellent skills in complex analytic problem solving, project management, change management, conflict resolution and group process. Demonstrated ability to effectively establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with peers and colleagues at all levels of the organization including external vendors. Articulate, detail oriented, and well-organized. Outstanding presentation, verbal communication, and written communication skills. Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility to work with any operational area of the organization; easily applies skillset, knowledge, and experience. Knowledge of performance improvement processes and tools. Preferred Qualifications: Eight (8) years' experience working with a health plan or proven understanding of health plan operations. Prior experience working in an Agile environment Project manager certification (e.g., PMI-ACP, CSM, PMP, CAPM, CSPO) Hours/Location: M-F; Days May work in a hybrid capacity and will regularly be onsite at the Bloomington corporate office on Tuesdays/Wednesdays. Additional onsite days may be necessary based upon work needs. Accountabilities: Provides leadership and expertise on the design, development, and implementation of highly complex projects and/or initiatives with strategic importance. Drives timelines and deliverables. Helps design structure, plans, agendas, and outcomes for core health plan leadership meetings. Develop, define, and utilize consistent project management methodologies and serves as the leader for other Health Plan project managers. Responsible for building, assessing, developing, and engaging a highly effective team equipped to manager health plan initiatives. Makes connections with other project managers across the enterprise. Motivate, inspire, and effectively collaborate with key partners to maintain momentum and drive projects and initiatives forward. Work within and across various areas of the health plan to understand goals, needs and coordinate tasks. Maintains a thorough understanding of how health plans work, what drives growth and effectiveness, and stays up to date with latest trends and best practices Ensures execution of strategic plans that represent the long-term goals of the health plan and determines needs/resources to execute. Works closely with senior health plan leaders to define proj cts needed for success, including leading prioritization, resource allocation and budget processes. Identify, manage and problem solve issues, risks and changing environments and their impact on overall performance, processes, or business strategy Regularly provide guidance and constructive feedback to colleagues and key partners to support their role in project success Create, compiles, and connects analytics and KPIs to help inform key business decisions.
