Description

This is a hybrid role, and the ideal candidate should be in the Twin Cities Metro area with the ability to work onsite 3 days a week at the Bloomington Q-Central office. Please note, relocation assistance is not provided.

Flagg Bicycle Group, LLC provides management, expertise, administration, and governance for all FBG investments to protect, preserve, and enhance the assets of FBG and to secure a sound future for our businesses.

The FBG Accountant is responsible for overseeing general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions for the affiliate entities that role up to the Flagg Bicycle Group. Affiliate entities within the group currently consist of FBG, LLC, Workstand, Wheels Manufacturing, Terry Precision Cycling, real estate affiliates, and trusts. QBP is also an affiliate of FBG, but operates independently with its own accounting team.

This position will work with the FBG Accounting team to ensure entries are recorded, reconciliations are completed, and a consistent monthly close that represents that business activities are completed accurately and with proper internal controls. In addition, this role will assist with annual business plan facilitation and annual and quarterly forecast and cash flow activities.

The FBG Accountant will report to the FBG Accounting Manager. This position does not currently have any direct reports.

Financial Accounting and Planning [50%]

  • Manage all AP and AR functions for the affiliate entities

  • Preparing financial statements, journal entries, and account reconciliations.*

  • Completing and supporting month-end and year-end close activities ensuring a timely close.. Goal to close all entities within 10 days. *

  • Assist the Accounting Manager with preparation of budgets and cashflow.*

  • Preparation of intercompany, solar, and management fee billings. *

  • Preparation of healthcare insurance billings, annual true up, and per member fee calculation. *

  • Management of fixed asset reporting and tracking for affiliates companies. *

  • Lead cycle counts and inventory valuation across the affiliate group.

  • Identify clean-up of billings amongst the affiliate entities and make recommendations.

Payroll Processing and Contractor Reporting [20%]

  • Complete biweekly payroll runs. *

  • Assist with tax workpapers and preparation of 1099 forms. *

Tax and 401k Compliance [20%]

  • Coordination of sales, excise, and GST tax filings with 3rd party vendors and preparation internally when needed. *

  • Assist Accounting Manager with the 401k audit as needed. *

  • Preparation and filing of annual foreign bank account reports and beneficial owner paperwork to FINCEN. *

  • Own timely filing of periodic Secretary of State and other corporation reports and surveys. *

  • Preparation of personal property tax declarations and ensure timely payment of all property taxes. *

Other Tasks and Needs [10%]

  • Assist the Accounting Manager with the preparation and storage of accounting policies.

  • Assist with future Flagg Bicycle Group Acquisitions.

  • Facilitate business valuations with 3rd party vendor.

  • Assist Accounting Manager with insurance or workers comp audits as needed.

  • Assist Accounting Manager with annual reviews/audits as needed.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of experience preferably with a mix of accounting and financial planning

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting or related field

  • Understanding of accounting and financial concepts

  • Financial reporting and analysis experience

  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Suite of products including high proficiency in Excel.

  • Strong communication skills across various mediums – video, phone, email, and in person.

  • Ability to tailor communication to the audience, explaining complex accounting concepts in simple terms for non-experts while engaging in detailed, professional discussions with knowledgeable stakeholders

  • Prophix or a similar financial reporting software.

  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CPA, CMA, or CGMA

  • MBA in Accounting, Finance, or other similar field

  • Experience related to the following industries:

  • Manufacturing

  • Software as a service

  • Retail and wholesale

  • Real estate

  • SAP, Sage, NetSuite ERP experience

  • Experience with payroll and payroll software such as UKG.

  • Cost accounting experience

  • Ability to perform work on a phone and computer extensively.
