nVent Material Handler - 2nd Shift in Anoka, Minnesota

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:

Respond to the requests of andon and manufacturing lines, picking and delivering / transporting material to requester via car between Main Plant and SSO. Identify root cause and assist in problem recognition, definition and solution.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Respond to andon light occurrences in a timely manner.

  • Investigate incident to determine root cause, record reason codes.

  • Provide solution to operations by picking, delivering, and appropriately transacting materials.

  • Transporting material between Main Plant and SSO with company vehicle

  • Identify recurring themes and assist in RCCM and problem resolution.

  • Compiles with all applicable safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or potential safety hazards to Team Leader or appropriate resource.

  • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area.

  • Notifies Team Leader or other appropriate resource when problems arise concerning equipment, operations, materials, inventory, documentation, etc.

  • Maintains equipment including safety checks.

  • Maintains a supply of equipment including materials necessary to complete the operation.

  • Meets established performance standards to ensure production schedules are met.

  • Ensures that product meets nVent’s quality specifications.

  • Maintains accurate records and inventory balances.

  • Performs rotational assignments as needed.

  • Participates actively as a team member through continuous improvement activities to meet customer needs.

  • May be required to perform additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.

  • Minimum 1 year production work experience preferred

  • Experience operating RF scanner and software

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Computer experience with Windows Word, Excel, Outlook, JD Edwards, and the Internet.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to safely drive company vehicle

  • Knowledge of all material flow processes

  • Knowledge of safety policies and procedures, and ability to promote compliance with them.

  • Skill in analytical thinking and problem solving.

  • Skill in communicating effectively through oral and written communications.

  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstances and have the ability to thrive in a constantly changing business environment.

  • Ability to operate equipment necessary. i.e., wave lift, tugger truck, mother/daughter carts, forklift, laptop

  • Ability to function in a high stress, high pressure environment, with a positive attitude.

  • Ability to solve ambiguous problems with unique solutions

  • Ability to exhibit leadership and people management skills

  • Ability to obtain forklift license.
